Governor Otti Assures Prompt Payment of Pensions and Gratituities

Alex Chioma Otti, the executive governor of Abia State has assured the members of the Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries, Abia State Chapter, that their pensions and gratuities will be paid promptly as soon as the process of verification is completed. He made this known today in a meeting he held with them today being the 6th of June 2023.

Recall that His Excellency, Alex Otti, had emerged the winner of the gubernatorial elections of 2023 on the Labour Party platform. His victory was highly celebrated as a result of the courage and resilience exhibited by the Returning Officer in the governorship and state House of Assembly elections in Abia State and Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Prof Nnenna Oti, , who reportedly refused to be bribed nor intimidated into being a party to the rigging of the election.

Governor Otti commended the contributions of the retired permanent secretaries to the development of the state, adding that their collective and individual efforts contributed to his victory in the election, while promising to eliminate ghost workers from the system.
