We are Being Ruled by Criminals

Following on the heels of the arrest of the suspended CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, there are reports of gross malpractices by the previous administration led by Muhamadu Buhari. These allegations are weighty and are reportedly why the gentleman had been arrested.

This kind of disturbing news is more disturbing because the immediate past president had been marketed as Mr. Integrity who would bring corruption to a halt once he took the reigns of power. But we all have been deceived because the said administration has been proved to engender corruption the likes of which had not been seen, and embezzlement of public funds that may be rivalled only by the Abacha regime. In fact, the fact that President Buhari could defend the late General Abacha was an indication that they have a lot in common.

When one considers the alleged fraud that was the Dangote Refinery, which had been explained by Just Society for All ad a public funded venture for the benefit of an individual and in his name, and then adds it to the launch of a national carrier with a masked borrowed aeroplane from Ethiopian Airlines. It’s apparent that the government was playing the game of the-more-you-look-the-less-you-see with Nigerians.

Shehu Sani said on Twitter that “Buhari’s Government withdrew money from the CBN, spent it and then went to the National Assembly to seek for an approval of the money they have already spent. That was how the Country was governed.”

Imagine that!

In response to the tweet, Taiwo Odedairo (Ph.D) stated:
1. Amount they withdrew/printed - 22.7 Trillion Naira
2. Paid National Assembly & Reps members - $50,000 US Dollars each for approval and classified it as debt... What is next for Nigeria.... we are being ruled by criminals!

The more you look the less you would see. The money that is missing under Buhari might be more than what Abacha stole and stored. Emefiele probing would be one sided because they might touch the tail of tigers and that of lions when proper job is done. – Dr. Melatonin.

Buhari stealing is like 100 times more than what IBB, Abacha, Abdulsalam, OBJ, Yaradua and GEJ put together. They stole crude oil directly, subsidy, CBN by printing money to spend and getting dollars at ridiculous price and sell at differential of 300+, borrowed money… - Dominion

People equate a low-key lifestyle with integrity. A bigger corruption is when under your watch, everybody in your govt. was an authority and no accountability. A minister could even come out to tell us that he knew nothing about the portfolio given to him. Chai!! - Bashir Abdulaziz

Abdul Taylor-Kamara, a Sierra Leone an has declared himself obidient. He took to his Twitter handle to describe his encounter with recently emigrated Nigerians he met at a train station, and how he affirmed his hope for justice with regards to the February 25 presidential election in Nigeria. “Bumped into two newly Japa’d Nigerians at a train station today,” he had tweeted. “They asked for directions and told them I’m going to the same destination.
