The Student Loan Act: A Game Changer for Higher Education in Nigeria

Image
Introduction Education is widely recognized as a key driver of economic growth and development. However, many Nigerians face financial barriers to accessing higher education, especially in the face of rising tuition fees, inflation, and unemployment. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the unemployment rate in Nigeria was 33.3% as of the fourth quarter of 2020, while the inflation rate was 17.93% as of May 2021. These economic challenges have made it difficult for many students to afford the cost of higher education or to rely on their parents or guardians for support. To address this problem, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed the Student Loan Bill into law on Monday, June 12, 2023. But now majority of the mainstream social spheres have developed an acceptance towards the activity and some specialists nowadays even highlight the beneficial sides of masturbation. The greatest advantage of masturbation, as experts point out, is that it allows an outlet to the sexual energy and surplus sexual fluid for men or women who do not have sexual partners.   Also the habit of masturbating can repress social evils of molestation. It can also check depression and frustration at the mental level. Research shows that most men and women have masturbated at some point in their liv...

They're Not Even Indigenes - Babatunde Gbadamosi

Image

He opined that the decision has very far reaching implications that has the ability to destroy the very fabric of the country. "Jumped-up village bumpkins from the Yoruba hinterland, who, through criminal enterprise considered abominations in their villages, have captured Lagos State from its Indigenes, have now through their arrogance and inflated sense of self, begun the process of destroying the goose that has been laying the golden eggs they've been stealing since 1999," he said.  "Speaker  Obasa and his boss are the archetypal ẹnú já wáyà. Shehu Sani commends Emefiele's Suspension

Image
The distinguished former senator and political critic, Shehu Sani has spoken out on the arrest of the suspended CBN governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele. "The eviction of Emefiele is commendable," he said in a tweet. "The  appointment of Shonubi as acting Governor is commendable. But the Housecleaning of the CBN can only be done by engaging a team of auditors from OUTSIDE of the CBN. Only they can professionally and thoroughly probe the apex Bank and tell the country how the Bank was run under Buhari’s Emefiele. The CBN was operated as an ATM of the Cabal, a Canteen and Cash Cow of the parasitic elites of the past administration. "The Senate and CBN; They summoned him on Naira redesign and cash withdrawal limit, he shunned them and they invited him on the N500 DBN disbursement, he shunned them. The Buhari’s FG played with the Senate and the CBN like a toy. Lawan’s senate failed to hold the Governor accountable. He tied their hands. "Buhari’s Government wi...

We are Being Ruled by Criminals

Image
Following on the heels of the arrest of the suspended CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, there are reports of gross malpractices by the previous administration led by Muhamadu Buhari. These allegations are weighty and are reportedly why the gentleman had been arrested. This kind of disturbing news is more disturbing because the immediate past president had been marketed as Mr. Integrity who would bring corruption to a halt once he took the reigns of power. But we all have been deceived because the said administration has been proved to engender corruption the likes of which had not been seen, and embezzlement of public funds that may be rivalled only by the Abacha regime. In fact, the fact that President Buhari could defend the late General Abacha was an indication that they have a lot in common. When one considers the alleged fraud that was the Dangote Refinery, which had been explained by Just Society for All ad a public funded venture for the benefit of an individual and in his name, an...
